About

The STILTS Project provides technology enhanced professional development in integrated inquiry-based learning and argumentative writing for middle and high school science and language arts teachers. The University of Oregon’s College of Education has partnered with Lane ESD, STEM CORE, and eight high-need or high-poverty districts throughout the state to create the STILTS Project.

Professional development is delivered in person through summer institutes and virtually in the immersive digital world of Second Life, as well as through reading materials and groups; mentoring; pre-, formative, and summative assessments of professional gains for teachers; and the opportunity to earn up to 2 graduate credits in Physics or Education.
